One more day to go folks. The first leg of the Los Suenos Signature Triple Crown is coming down to the final wire. It should be an interesting day. The body of water that held the fish yesterday has moved out of bounds. This means that boats are going to be scrambling all over the Pacific Ocean searching for the next wave of fish.
The leaders have separated themselves from the pack but as we have seen before in tournament fishing anything can happen. Especially today when boats will be a little more in search mode. All it takes is for a boat to find a mother load all by themselves and start picking away with multiples to quickly jump out in front.
Another possibility today is to see more marlin releases. Marlin are worth 500 points as opposed to 100 points for each sailfish release. A team can quickly move up in the standings with a couple marlin releases. Searching sometimes means a change in tactic. When the fish area all concentrated in a single spot almost most boats are dredge fishing at slightly slower speeds trying to pull fish of the concentration of bait. In hunting mode some boats will go “old Style Tico” trolling at higher speeds with plug teasers such the Squidnation FAD Series Lures
If you would like to listen to the live scoring updates tune in to the Los Suenos Tournament Page You can follow your favorite boat throughout the day. Good Luck to all the fisherman. Its gonna be a fun day.
