Big Eye Video and Tuna Report Up and Down the Coast

The early tuna season did not trickle in.  The fish came in with a bang and seem to be making a strong presence in quite a few locations.  Capt Austin Ensor started off the Ocean City Fleet on May 8th with a nice catch of Blueflin releasing 5 and keeping 1 from the Wilmington.  A few miles further up and out the Jersey fleet had found the yellowfin.

Meanwhile the bite to the south has been off to as good a start as the Carolina fleet has seen in years.  The early part of the week brought some tough conditions but the bite between the Point and the 650 hole has been moderate to excellent when conditions allowed for boats to get out.

Also on May 14th we went out on the first trip of the year on the charter boat Blood Money with Capt Anthony Pino.  We were a hair south of the small fleet that found the good numbers of yellowfin but we did manage 5 yellowfins and Big Eye for my nephew Chris Pino.  The fish ate a blue and white seawitch.  Below is a short video of the end game.

The water that Capt. Ensor was fishing the previous week had trickled down to the Baltimore Canyon and he scored again with a nice catch of Yellow Fins.  He said he got slammed once with a double on the Squidnation Rainbow Flippy Floppy to complete a nice day of 6 yellowfin out of 9 bites.
